...well, sort of. I thought that perhaps Derek and Shannon would lose some of the publics votes because of their comments last week. And they've gone bye-bye. I thought it would be tough to know who would be eliminated because I really like all the stars. 'm curious whether Cristian's injury garnered him some sympathy votes or not? Although scoring wise Cristian, Shannon, and Marissa have all been relatively close so i thought anyone of them could go.
It's so hard to know who is the "best" dancer. I'm amazed at how well all of them do with all their different strengths and weaknesses. I'll miss the showmance saga, but I'm happy to watch all the other stars and pros...besides it is really supposed to be all about the dancing, right? I hope that Derek makes it to the freestyle round one season because he seems to be a really great choreographer and could do something spectacular. Well, I guess that all depends on his partner.
So, exciting stuff! Can't wait to see them dance next week! Oh and I just have to add I think Samantha looked great during the results show. Fabulous dress. Sometimes I wonder who dresses her, but Tuesday night that gown looked great on her. Just my two cents. I'm thinking we could have a Jason, Kristi, and Mario final three. What do you think?

I just need to get this out
aaah, I can't find the results show to Dancing with the Stars. I so want to see who is kicked off this week! But I don't want to go to the website or read it on-line I WANT to SEE the show. I thought everyone did so well this week. I don't know who I would vote for if I weren't living over seas. For me it's getting to the point where all the really terrible dancers are gone so I don't know who I want to see leave. Personally, I don't think that Marissa or Shannon can win but I enjoy watching both of them.
And, yes, I like watching the little Shannon - Derek saga. I loved that they got so upset and ranted last week and that tons of people watching were outraged by their behavior. That's good programming people. Sure, it was rather impolitic to say what Derek did especially since he was referring to the other stars who aren't any more professional dancers than Shannon and work just as hard as she does...but lets face it ABC knew that would get people intrigued to tune and watch what happens next. that's why they aired that clip instead of a different portion of their "Confessional". It makes for high drama. Sex sells, baby. I definitely don't think Shannon can win but it's possible she could make it to the top 3 or 4. She seems to have trouble with the Latin dances and nail the Ballroom dances. Mario on the other hand can shake it like no other in the Latin dances and has a bit of trouble getting it under control for the ballroom dances. At this point I'd enjoy watching any of the stars continue on.
Cristian is probably one of the weaker dancers but he just seems like such a genuine guy. I can't help rooting for him. Besides, it would just suck if he were voted off on the night he injured his arm. Poor guy. I haven't looked in the news yet (because I don't want to know who gets booted) so I don't know how serious an injury it is. Hope he's feeling better.
Yeah, so I just wanted to share that since my darling husband couldn't care less about DWTS. He occasionally indulges me by listening to me babble on or by watching a little clip of the show - I forced him to watch Jason Taylor Paso to the Monday Night football theme. I thought that was hysterical. I could definitely see him as a finalist he's quite impressive.
Oh and one more thing about those confessionals and all the hullabaloo about Shannon and Derek's last week. The pros and the stars get pissy and upset every year and many, MANY of them have bashed the judges for what they felt were unfair comments or scores. So, get over it people it's not like it has never happened before. That's all I have to say.
I can't wait to see who's still around for next week. Yay!!! I LOVE Dancing with the Stars!
p.s. If you watch, who are you rooting for and why? Just curious to see what other people think.

I'm the worst
Oh my gosh, I can't believe it. It's 1:00 and I am still sitting around the living room in my pajamas! What it going on? I just feel so lazy and unmotivated today. First I didn't want to wake up, I forced myself to get up and plunked myself down on the couch and have been there most of the day. Unfortunately, I do have some housework to get done...but that can wait.
Before I say any more I'd like to say "Bon Anniversaire, Darlene!" I hope you have a chance to relax a bit and enjoy your birthday.
Now, onto me. I can't really share the spotlight - it is MY blog, you know. Ugh, the snow it melting making me dread our daily afternoon walk. The past few days have been fun because the snow was light and fluffy, Ally was so cute running through the snow. But today it's just going to be slogging through a bunch of slush coming back soaked through. Just plain ooky (yeah, so what if I just made up a word. It totally fits). Sadly this weather shifting is wreaking havoc with my sinuses.
OK, so I've taken quite a few breaks in writing this post..it is now almost 2 p.m. and Ally is starting to whine for her afternoon trek. But first, I just want to make my comments about Dancing with the Stars (yeah, yeah you don't have to read it if you're not interested.) I really like all the stars this year. It wasn't a huge surprise that Monica Seles and Penn Jillette were the first to go. They actually had the lowest scores so for once America and the judges agreed. I did feel rather bad for them both they seemed to really enjoy being on the show and tried very hard. Poor Penn and his monstrous feet, I don't know if he ever would have succeeded in getting those boats under control. And Monica Seles looks so uncomfortable on the dance floor. Surprisingly uncoordinated and ungraceful for an athlete (at least that's my opinion). Adam Corolla actually got some decent scores -Len gave him a 7! Just imagine if he actually practiced more than 2 hours a day he might become very good! Though, I'm not holding my breath that he'll put more effort into the dancing. I don't really have any strong favorites yet. I am totally surprised by Jason Taylor. He seems very light and graceful for a football player. It would be nice to see Edyta win, or at least come close. I believe she's the only pro who has been on every single season.
Steve Guttenberg is great but I can see him getting very annoying very quickly. It's not that he's bubbly it's that everything he says is so P.C. you know? Like, "this show helps to change the world." What?!?! How!?!?! Sure, maybe it encourages people to go out and take ballroom dance lessons, which is great and a very healthy trend...but...I don't know it just sounds so dumb when he says it. I don't want to say it's contrived, because it seems like he is sincerely a sweet person...but I don't know how much of it I can take. He needs back off the overly nice quotient just a tad. Marissa could also fall into this annoyingly bubbly, nice category for many people as well. She doesn't annoy me because I think she's funny, but I could see her getting on a lot of peoples nerves. Hmmm...what else can I spout off on to avoid walking the dog....Kristi Yamaguchi is doing an amazing job. I know a lot of people say she has an edge because of the figure skating and in some ways that's probably true. But, in the end I don't really care. I mean this is a contest among people who are already famous (maybe some of them are trying to resuscitate their careers) and the prize is a mirror ball trophy and bragging rights, that's it. It's not like some of these competitions where people are competing for a recording contract or whatever. So, who cares. Yeah, she probably has an advantage since she understands how to move to music and place her arms, but I'm sure that skating around to music is much different than performing all those dance steps. And think of it this way all the contestants have an edge over Marlee Matlin she can't even hear the music!!! She blows me away. Can you imagine being Fabien? Your first season on DWTS and you have a deaf partner. They are doing an outstanding job, I'm so impressed.
OK, OK enough of that. I better go do something useful. I need to take the laundry out of the washing machine, walk the dog, and do the dishes... the fun never ends here in Sergy!

a few thoughts
First off, A LAMB!!! How could you think it was a lamb. It is most definitely a dog. And now all I will hear from my DH is that more people agree with him than me. Thanks people - I was counting on you. Oh well, you are entitled to you opinion (I'll have the truth...hee, hee).
Second, I watched the Men's night of Dancing with the Stars and I think it'll be a fun season. There are some very good male dancers and some not so good. cough, Adam Carolla, cough, cough. But, then again did anyone really expect him to be graceful? I didn't think he did too bad considering. And Penn didn't do so bad either. No one was really horrendous in my opinion. It should be interesting to see the women. Can I just say, what is up with Priscilla Presley? Is she really considered a celebrity? For what? Marrying and divorcing Elvis? I think that boat has sailed. and I hate to be disparaging of anyone but her face looks a bit plastic doesn't it? She does not seem to enjoy being in front of the camera. In fact, they mentioned what a private person she is and I wondered why on earth she decided to do this show? I wish her the best, but she seems a bit odd to me.
I've only really watched for 2 seasons so it will be nice to see someone other than Julianne Hugh win. she's a great dancer and teacher but it'll be fun to see some of the other pros in the spotlight. OK, I really need to get back to learning more theatre games. Jenna, from the Theatre gave me a stack of books to look through but she needs them back next week so I better get cracking.

It's back!!!
What's back? Dancing with the Stars, silly. Yep, that's right. The first episode was last night. Don't tell me about it, I haven't watched it yet. I love DWTS. I don't know why, I just do! Maybe I secretly wish I could get all glamed up in sequence and monstrous eyeshadow. hee, hee, hee...that would be funny.
Well that's all I have to say for now. I've got to actually get myself up and motivated today. I have a stack of books with Theatre games for kids I need to start plowing through!

thoughts on dancing with the stars
yeah, yeah, I know that I just posted like 30 minutes ago, but I just need to share with someone my thoughts on DWTS. First off, I'm not too surprised that Jennie and Derek got booted, but I am disappointed. I mean, Marie Osmond has a great personality and all, but she's been on the bottom for the last 3 weeks. How did the person with the lowest scores for 3 weeks straight make it to the finals? That's the fickle fiend of fate for you...or, more acurately, the voting public. Hey, don't blame me, I live in France I can't vote. I don't even get to see the shows until a day or two, sometimes more, after they've aired. So, it's your fault, not mine. But let us not reduce ourselves to blaming one another. Let's talk DWTS. It's not that I think Jennie Garth is fabulous or anything, but I was hoping that Derek would get a chance to choreograph a free style dance. I think that he'd do something pretty cool. I can't wait to see what the finalists will do. Maybe Marie Osmond will break-dance like Apollo Anton Ono did last season - that'd make me laugh till I cried.
My vote, so far, is for Mel B. 1.) she's got a great first name (hee, hee, hee) 2.) she's the only one who's gotten 30 THREE times (I think). and 3.) I think that she can do most any dance and do it well. I like Helio a lot, I mean who couldn't? He's sweet and kinda dorky and a very good dancer. But, there are some dances he just doesn't seem good at heelllloooo, remember the Rhumba? But, as he's the only non-performer out there- Josh pointed this out to me as the reason Helio should win - he's doing a damn fine job of putting on a great performance, not just a good technical dance. That is pretty impressive.
Oh and the #4 reason Mel B. should win: she used a WHIP in her last Paso doble!! You gotta love a girl with a whip.
So, that's my DWTS post for this week. For all of you who don't know what the hell I was just talking about just smile and nod ( that's what I do when I have no idea what's going on) and be thankful that next week is the finals. No more DWTS after that. boo hoo sniff, sniff.

Blown Away
Whoa, if you watch Dancing with the Stars were you as blown away that Sabrina and Mark got kicked off as I was? Wow. I'm still shocked. They aren't my favorite dance couple, but you gotta admit the girl can dance. I definitely thought she was going to make it to the end. Then again, as I saw who was in the bottom two I'll confess that I was hoping Cameron would make it through. Hey, he may not be as good a dancer as the Cheetah gal, but he's sure makes some nice eye candy. Tell me I'm wrong. Ladies, you know you were thinking the same thing, "it'll be a shame to lose such a hot piece o' ass." Don't lie, you were too thinking it. I did feel bad for Sabrina though - she looked like she was going to cry. And what's going on with those two? Thanks baby and I love you. A wee bit weird if you ask me. Could there be more to this duo than just dancing? hmmm...
Yeah, so I finally watched DWTS and I'm so, so happy that I didn't ruin it by looking at the website yesterday, as you know I was tempted to do. But, alas, that is all I have to say for the moment. Ciao!

Confessions of a recluse blogger
Ok, I have a confession to make. Some of you may already know this, but for those of you out there who don't know yet, here it is...I LOVE, love, looooove Dancing With the Stars. Sick, I know, but I can't help it. I am a complete addict. The difficulty is I can't watch it here on Monday nights. We don't even own a TV for christ sake, not that we could get American shows on it if we did have one, and then DWTS would be on at hmmm... it's on at 8:00pm so that would make it 2:00am here! So, I have resorted to skulking on a Torrent site where you can download TV shows and the like. It drives me nuts when the newest Dancing with the Stars episode isn't posted right away. I have been checking that damn site nearly every 30 minutes ALL day today in the hopes that it will suddenly appear. Alas, it's still not there and I just KNOW that tonight's results show will get posted up there before Monday nights show and I'll break down by Thursday and go look at the DWTS website and ruin it for myself, again. Yeah, that's what I did last week and found out that oh, big surprise, Mark Cuban was booted. But even more than that I saw clips of Marie Osmond fainting. Man, it totally ruined the surprise value of that one when I finally watched the actual episode. If only I had been of stronger will then I too could have gasped with shock and dismay at the fantastic fainting Osmond, but I have no will power and thus it was not to be.
So, I'm going to be strong this week. I will not go to the website under any circumstances. If you've ever been to the website then you also know that you are constantly subjected to these stupid Huggies commercials. I get it, Huggies are not made for bricks, but for real human babies. I pass the tip along to my sister-in-law, whose preggers. Did you get that Jenn? Huggies are for human babies, not bricks, just in case you missed that salient point during your last pregnancy. If you happen to pop out an adorable little brick (hey stranger things have happened in the Moss family!) then DO NOT use Huggies.
Ok, enough about Huggies. Back to DWTS. I've gotten just a tad bit obsessed with it and even found myself reading some of the posts. People are nuts. I'm just saying, I might be out of my mind, but I don't broadcast it to the whole world by posting ridiculous things on the DWTS website. Hmmm...wait a minute...do I smell a hypocrite blogger, here. sniff, sniff, sniff...
Whoa mama, I don't know if it's hypocrisy I'm smelling or just my rank ol' self. Seriously folks, I'm ashamed to admit this, but my personal hygiene is going straight down the toilet. I know, I know it's very European to not wear deodorant and smell like b.o. ,but not really. Yikes, not only do I stanck, with a capital S, but I can't even remember if I brushed my teeth or washed my face this morning, I know I didn't shower, one whiff and you'd know too. Man, not having a job while sounding great and all can be detrimental to your personal well-being. I'm sitting here marinating in my stink and I'm not even moved to go and shower - I don't have to. I'm a recluse who doesn't leave the apartment what's the point? Granted, I do have an urge to go brush my teeth. Think of the future dentist bills if I don't. I keep telling myself, "surely, Melanie, you brushed your teeth this morning. That's what normal people do, they get up, eat breakfast drink some coffee, maybe read the newspaper (not me we don't get any newspapers and they'd all be in French anyways) then they brush their teeth, wash up, get dressed...yeah, but normal people also shower and you didn't, so what makes you think you brushed your teeth?" Hmm, good point self.
Hey, it's not that abnormal to talk to yourself! Get off my back, I'm home alone all day with 2 dogs, either I talk to myself or I talk to them. Well, you got me, I do both. But I still feel confidant that when I talk to myself I am still talking to the smartest being in the room. I dare you to deny it.
so, yeah. Me + hygiene = not so great friends right now. Thank god I have a loving husband who doesn't notice such little things like morning breath at 7:00 at night or the smell of my unwashed body. Really, who is he to complain. I don't go play soccer for 2 hours then come home and sit around drenched in sweat, stinkin' to high heaven for an hour before I'm "ready" to shower. I mean, please, it's not like it's been that long since I've showered....er...what day is it again?
Now that I think about it I better go and brush my teeth...
